Empakai Camp

Empakai Camp

Our camp has 6 sleeping tents, one common tent with the bar, dining and lounge area, kitchen tent and staff tents. Each tent is furnished with full size beds, quality linen and blankets.

Welcome to Empakai Camp, part of The Great Rift Valley Trek, an innovative series of treks in glamping style!

Uncompromisingly ECOcentric

Our has been designed to leave almost zero long term impact – if taken down the ‘return to natural state’ in less than a month. It is operated as a very low impact eco-camp.

There are no permanent structures, no cement bricks or wooden platforms. Our Tents are camouflaged for low view-shed and equipped with compost toilets. Water is brought in from local spring sources. Solar power is used extensively to reduce or omit carbon emissions and avid noise pollution from generators.

Our camp employs a number of people from the local Naiobi village and we have ongoing training programs for guides and camp staff (notably we’re employing and empowering women as per our flagship camp in Lake Natron, Ngare Sero).
